Our Key Priorities

Whilst there are many individual business matters that each Chamber of Commerce will lobby for at a local level, there are some barriers to growth, where a regional response has more power by presenting a united voice to support improvements.  As a collective, all five Chambers of Commerce working in collaboration have more power to connect and support, and give voice at a regional and national level.

Key areas where we have historically collaborated to lobby and influence are around large-scale infrastructure improvements such as road, rail and digital connectivity. All five Chambers of Commerce are delivering the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIP) for the East of England, designed to put employers at the heart of the skills agenda.

Below are some of the key campaigns that all five Chambers of Commerce are collaborating on to deliver improvements to the East of England business communities..

Transport and infrastructure – Ensuring businesses can move goods, people, and data efficiently

Skills and workforce development – Helping businesses recruit, retain and train the workforce they need and allowing employers to articulate the skills gaps

Trade and economy – Supporting businesses to grow, export, and compete globally

These priorities are at the heart of our mission, but our work doesn’t stop here. If businesses face other challenges, Chambers East is here to listen, support, and advocate for the changes needed to help them grow and prosper.

We’re committed to making the East the best place in the UK to do business.
